Always look on the bright side of lockdown-life

I was bored, so I rewrote Eric Idle’s Always look on the bright side of life. Please forgive me for not being a good enough singer to perform it.

You know what they say:

Am————————————–D
You’re tucked neatly in your bed,
———————————G———————————–Em
you think the world’s fucked. That makes you sad.
Am—————–D———————–G
Being alone is nothing short of shit.

You’ll watch Netflix all the time,
you’ll drink some beer and then some wine,
and finally you’ll just accept that’s it. And:

G———Em————-Am—–D———G
Always look on the bright side of life,
G———Em————-Am—–D———G
always look on the bright side of life.

Macron declares a war,
that’s not the way of that I’m sure.
The thing we need is science and not guns.

Can’t shoot a virus in the head,
otherwise the States would have done that.
Be sensible and use your common sense. And:

Always look on the bright side of life,
always look on the bright side of life.

If this really was the end,
we’d have some time on our hand,
think about the good things that we’ve done.

If you can’t remember any,
but of the bad things there are many,
maybe it’s the time to understand that you should:

Always look on the bright side of life,
always look on the bright side of life.

Now this song will fade away,
but the message may just stay,
be a nice and good and sanitary friend.

Don’t look at the panic on your phone,
you’re fine, even if you’re all alone,
fuck, what if this really is the end?
